A good read, this. A couple of weeks ago my wife made me sit down (held me down is more accurate) and made me watch videos of childbirth, to make me appreciate how fucking painful and horrific an ordeal it is for the mum, and fuck me do I now! This story complements my learning experience😐

Thanks, Chris. I like your wife's style. The whole process is disgusting and bloody and mucky and any one who says it's beautiful is most likely still huffing gas and air in my opinion.

The screams still haunt my dreams.

It's a crime scene every time.

Just got around to reading this now and I'm sorry I waited so long. As a younger man I would not have appreciated this story, and I'm glad I grew a wad of patience while aging. They say the baby's first three years determine how the rest of it's life will progress, but Indians and others assure us the groundwork is laid in the 40 days before conception. This story wonderfully shows us why we need to pay attention to such things. Not doing so produces a world full of Brandons.

On a side note, I'm writing something about the origins of civilization, and it's interesting here that food plays such a central role in the story. We would never have reached the highs we've reached, or the terrible lows, without a SERIOUS commitment to the stockpiling of food. Well done and I can't wait to read what Chuck has to say about this. Keep up the great work.

Thanks very much for reading, Jack. I've always been intrigued by the hierarchy amongst mothers and how something sold to us as cute and wonderful is in fact a brutal horrorshow. Chuck did a deep dive on this piece awhile ago if you're interested. Number XIII I think.

I always read the piece, comment, and then check out Chuck's review. Was glad he only had superficial suggestions for your work-that shows you diid something right. Buena suerte in future endeavors.
