A good read, this. A couple of weeks ago my wife made me sit down (held me down is more accurate) and made me watch videos of childbirth, to make me appreciate how fucking painful and horrific an ordeal it is for the mum, and fuck me do I now! This story complements my learning experience😐

Just got around to reading this now and I'm sorry I waited so long. As a younger man I would not have appreciated this story, and I'm glad I grew a wad of patience while aging. They say the baby's first three years determine how the rest of it's life will progress, but Indians and others assure us the groundwork is laid in the 40 days before conception. This story wonderfully shows us why we need to pay attention to such things. Not doing so produces a world full of Brandons.

On a side note, I'm writing something about the origins of civilization, and it's interesting here that food plays such a central role in the story. We would never have reached the highs we've reached, or the terrible lows, without a SERIOUS commitment to the stockpiling of food. Well done and I can't wait to read what Chuck has to say about this. Keep up the great work.
